QUEENSLAND University of Technology has selected Microsoft over Google to power its new-generation email platform for students. About 40,000 QUT students will have access to Microsoft Live@edu email and calendaring tools, including Outlook Live, Office Live Workspace and SkyDrive storage.

Students will have increased mailbox capacity at 10GB, rather than a mere 20MB. The QUT Live@edu project excludes postgraduate student and staff, who have upgraded to Microsoft Outlook from Qualcomm's Eudora mail.
