When Windows Essential Business Server installs, setup will generate a self-signed certificate name based on the name of you specify during installation.  The certificate name will always be the name you selected for your remote access URL during setup.  This URL is used for Remote Web Workplace (RWW), TS Gateway, /OWA, etc. It may be desirable to change the name of this certificate or to replace this certificate with a certificate from a trusted authority.  For instance, you may have installed EBS with a remote access URL of "remote.contoso.com" but later decide that you want to change the URL to "rww.contoso.com" or "mail.contoso.com".  The other common scenario is that you may want to replace the self-signed certificate on the external interface with a public certificate, but retain the same FQDN.  Both scenarios are covered in this document.
