WordPress Plugins directory now powered by Sphinx

Until now, the search feature on the WordPress.org’s plugins directory was quite horrible. But no more, you can now use the power of Sphinx (a “free open-source SQL full-text search engine”) to search on the plugins directory both from the website and from within your blog’s admin (Plugins ? Add New), announced WordPress blog.
