Emma Alvarado, a Los Angeles consumer has sued Microsoft because she was charged a $59.25 downgrade fee in order to have Windows Vista operating system removed from her new Lenovo laptop and Windows XP installed instead. She's seeking class action status for her complaint.

Note: Many computer makers let buyers downgrade the operating systems in new computers from Vista to XP as long as they pay an extra fee. And on top of everything, they don’t give you operating system optical media. Harsh! I’m currently facing lots of problem with Lenovo, who’ve not responded to my numerous telephone calls and emails.
