Xpoint Technologies filed a case in the 12th district court names Intel, Microsoft, HP, Dell and others alleges those companies have violated their patent 7,024,581 and 7,430,686, called Data Processing Recovery System and Method Spanning Multiple Operating System. Xpoint alleges that in 2002, Intel approached the company to license its Rapid Restore Pro. Xpoint further alleges Intel later developed and sold infringing technologies, even making motherboards and chipsets using Farstone's Restore IT system and Acronis' True Image technology - which also infringe the patents, according to their claims.
