BOSS (Build Your Own Search Service) is a Yahoo! API to access their search index and get the data back either as XML or JSON. Whilst there is great documentation available it can still be a bit daunting to use the API purely in JavaScript - especially when you want to have several asynchronous calls - for example when you want to search the images, news and web sites for a certain query.

BOSS gives you a lot of power and comes with a lot of options, but most of the time all you want to do is to do a simple search, get some information back and display it. This is exactly what this wrapper yboss library does and it is built purely in JavaScript with no server-side dependencies.
