Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is still interested in Yahoo and noted in a keynote presentation Thursday it would still make sense for the software giant to acquire the Internet search pioneer.

Ballmer, speaking at the Gartner ITXpo in Orlando, Fla., made those comments during a keynote interview at the event, reports Yahoo News.

In addition Microsoft has issued the following statement regarding Yahoo!: “Our position hasn’t changed. Microsoft has no interest in acquiring Yahoo!; there are no discussions between the companies.”
