OpenX is a powerful ad serving solution that puts control over online advertising back in the hands of publishers. The software, once installed lets you create entries for advertisers, publishers, website, ad zones, and campaigns. You can also apply a whole slew of filters that’ll do things like geo targeting ads etc.

I’ve installed OpenX on our web server, but the installation is failing at “Linked zones” with forbidden error, may be due to some permission errors. I tried to troubleshoot, but due to lack of time, couldn’t let it go.

A good news for bloggers, who runs their blogs on free blogging platform like: Blogger, WordPress.com, Blogsome etc. OpenX is currently running beta version of hosted OpenX, that let the publisher use OpenX without downloading and installing on their own web server. All you need is just signup and wait for the invitation code.
