F-Secure announced a plan to offer secure and unlimited online backup with ISPs in the brand name “F-Secure Online Backup Service for Consumers,” which’s a turnkey solution for the ISP. F-Secure implements and hosts the backend storage system, as well as providing a provisioning system. This enables fast implementation of the service, reduces the time to market gap, as well as minimizing the capital investment needed for hardware, project management and service maintenance.
“Online backup is important. Consumers are realizing that they are accumulating a large amount of irreplaceable digital assets, like photos or personal projects, and that an easy method for protecting this content is needed. F-Secure Online Backup fits this need very well, and has provided an interesting business opportunity for us,” said Marco Frattini, Consumer Marketing Manager from WIND-Infostrada in Italy.
