WordPress 2.7 includes a lot of new features and enhancements, but among the big ones is the new comment functionality that adds “threaded, paged comments” etc built into the core. But your theme must support the new comment system, Otto has written a step-by-step guide to make your existing WordPress themes ready for WordPress 2.7 comments system.

Note: You’ll need WordPress 2.7 installed, if you don’t have it already, just download from WordPress trunk and install it either on a test system on your web account or locally using XAMPP (Read: Installing Xampp and WordPress).
