American Red Cross have stepped up efforts to provide relief for those most affected by the last week's landfall of Hurricane Ike storm. They’ve set up a number of shelters, providing food, safety, shelter, and above all, hope. Working with the Red Cross, Google’ve  mapped the open American Red Cross Shelters in the states of Texas and Louisiana. These locations, updated every ten minutes, are available to view in Google Earth, or via Google Maps:
