AMD’s graphics division (ATI) introduced the ninth update for its Catalyst driver software. Version 8.9 includes a new display mode, Overdrive support four quad-Crossfire X configurations and works in concert with OpenGL 3 extensions.
According to AMD, Catalyst 8.9 introduces 1080p-50 Hz custom mode support for HDTVs for Radeon 1000-4000 graphics cards. Also new is OpenGL 3.0
