SteelEye Technology Inc. a leading provider of business continuity and disaster recovery solutions for multi-vendor IT infrastructures, announced SteelEye DataKeeper support for the Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V at the Microsoft Get Virtual Now (getvirtualnow.com) launch event in Bellevue, Washington.

The need for virtual server protection is increasing as IT organizations consolidate workloads using virtualization software. Further magnifying this need is market research firm IDC's recent estimate that the virtualization market is expected to expand from $1.8 billion in 2007 to $5.3 billion in 2012, a compound annual growth rate in excess of 30 percent. As business-critical applications and data increasingly reside within virtual machines, protection against both planned and unplanned outages is a business imperative. DataKeeper addresses these challenges and provides customers with a highly available, disaster-proof IT environment running on Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V.

DataKeeper is a highly optimized data replication solution for Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. The product is sold in two versions: DataKeeper delivers data replication services as an extension to Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 while DataKeeper Cluster Edition further extends the capabilities of Windows Server Failover Clustering. Both editions support real-time replication of Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V virtual machines between physical servers across either LAN or WAN connections.
