It’s not Apple only that’s gearing up for some type of important announcement or here on September 9 at San Francisco. Microsoft is planning the release a new non-laser mouse, as teased on Microsoft Hardware with a video entitled “Say goodbye to Laser”.

The announcement won't just be centered around a new mouse, but will also include a new line of LifeCams, including the vx 5500 and the LifeCam Show (nx 8000). The former is rumored to become available in three colors, to have a Vista sidebar gadget for direct video calling, and to cost about $60. The latter will supposedly set you back $80, and comes with mounting capabilities. Expect new LifeCam software to also arrive with the release of these new models.
