Windows Home Server Power Pack 1 RTM will be released via Automatic Update to all home servers on Tuesday 12th August 2008. All home servers set to automatically download and install updates from Microsoft, which aren’t already running Power Pack 1 will download and install the new version of the software.

As many of you will know, Power Pack 1 brings critical bug fixes and a a number of great new features, meaning it is a must have update for every home server owner. If you don’t currently have Automatic Updates switched on, it’s a great idea to do so as you automatically get all critical security updates installed on your home server as soon as they’re available.

If you’ve been running a beta version of Power Pack 1, get ready for the final release by uninstalling your beta version via Add/Remove programs in the home server’s Control Panel. You’ll know when the update has installed, as you’ll be prompted to upgrade the Windows Home Server Connector on each of your home computers.
