Skype offers $9.95 unlimited calls plan – worldwide
Skype is an internet communication service, which offers VoIP worldwide, you can make and receive calls to and from landline and mobile phones, computers, as well as voicemail and call forwarding.
The company has announced a new unlimited calling plans to overseas phones for just $9.95 per month. With the new packages, you can get unlimited calls to the 34 countries across the world. The new plan introduces 3 different packages for users in different region:
- Unlimited US & Canada $2.95/month: Unlimited calls to landlines and cell phones in the US and Canada.
- Unlimited Mexico $5.95/month: Unlimited calls to landlines* in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. Discounted rates to landlines and cell phones in the rest of Mexico.
- Unlimited World $9.95/month: Unlimited calls to landlines* in 34 countries worldwide.
The Unlimited World plans inclused these countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada (incl. cell phones), China (incl. cell phones), Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Guam, Hong Kong (incl. cell phones), Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea[…]

The introduction of these new call plans from Skype should prove beneficial for the internet telephony / VoIP sector generally. Anything that helps to bring internet telephone calling further into the mainstream is very welcome.
May we mention that there are other options in the market that allow you to make unlimited calls for a flat rate such as Vonage.
