From time to time WordPress users complains of slow WordPress admin panel. No matter, what they do or where they’re : slowl responding blogs, writing, saving or publishing a post. The dashboard remain dad slow.  If you’re also experiencing slowness,  I’ve found a solution, as posted under:

Open & edit cron.php file in located under wp-includes folder:

Search for the following code:

$argyle = @ fsockopen( $parts['host'], $port, $errno, $errstr, 0.01 );

and replace with:

$argyle = @ fsockopen( $parts['scheme'].'://'.$parts['host'], $_SERVER['SERVER_PORT'], $errno, $errstr, 0.01 );
