Cool registry entries in the Child guests under “HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Virtual Machine\Guest\Parameters” – Here you have access to:

HostName
PhysicalHostName
PhysicalHostnameFullyQualified
VirtualMachineName

You can write a custom script and use these to display as part of BGInfo.
