Drexel University said Thursday it has allied with Google Inc. and Microsoft Corp. to provide its students with nearly 20 gigabytes of online storage for e-mail and files, as well as collaboration tools, Web-based calendars and personal blogs.

The university, which is in Philadelphia's University City section, will continue to offer students its in-house e-mail, calendar and storage services.

The additional Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) services, which Drexel is making available through a partnership program it calls LinkEdu, will be free to students and have Drexel.edu identification.
