Small is definitely a big theme of this year. In less than a week, after Tata Motors launched its Rs 100,000 ($2,500) car, Nano, another Indian firm, HCL Infosystems, Tuesday launched a laptop for the masses for Rs 14,000 (about $350).

HCL launched two variants of the laptops, called HCL MiLeap X Series priced at Rs 13,990 and HCL MiLeap Y Series at Rs 29,990.

"Our objective was to launch a laptop that will take technology to the masses. We have not compromised on any feature at all and it is just like any other laptop," Ajai Chowdhry, chairman and CEO, HCL Infosystems Ltd, told a press conference here.

I don't know about HCL they are known to produce one of the worst kind of hardware and worser after sales service.Compared to the cheap quality they offer, they are expensive.

Below is a news article about a company called ACi based from Singapore they produce much better computers at the same price, look at the photo compare the features and decide.

I would never go anywhere near any HCL product!
