Apple has today announced the launch of iTunes Movie Rentals. iTunes Movie Rentals launches today in the U.S. International will launch later this year. Software updates for iPods and iTunes will be forthcoming. Library titles: $2.99, New Releases: $3.99

30 days to start watching. 24 hours to finish on all Mac’s, PC’s, iPods and iPhones. All major studios are supporting it: Touchstone, Miramax, MGM, Lionsgate, Newline, Fox, Warner, Disney, Paramount, Universal and Sony.

Apple TV has a also had a good revamp: No computer required. Rent movies on Apple TV. DVD quality AND HD + Dolby 5.1. Podcasts, Photos, Syncing with iTunes and access to HD rentals at $4.99 each. Apple TV is now $229.
