Technorati updates Blog Rankings process

Technorati has made system changes for counting inbound links to determine blog rankings. Technorati has made system changes for counting inbound links to determine blog rankings. They were earlier counting all links made to a given domain(irrespective of whether it’s a TLD, sub-domain), for e.g. links made to xyz.example.com were also counted/added to example.com.

Technorati VP Engineering Dorion Carroll explains the change. There is still a massive amount of fraud links counted by Technorati in their Top Blogs list. I’m hoping that their newfound focus will lead to further changes.[Techcrunch]

This had some effect on the Technorati 100 list.
