Are you tired of seeing you mailbox littered with products catalogs, that you never registered with or you'll never buy or from companies you've never heard of? Just chill now, The Ecology Center started a project called Catalog Choice to help us fight back against catalog spam. This project is endorsed by the National Wildlife Federation and the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Catalog Choice is a free service that allows you to decide what gets in your mailbox. Use it to reduce your mailbox clutter with the number of repeat and unsolicited catalog mailings, while helping save natural resources.

How it works? It's a pretty 3 simple steps process:

  1. You register on the site, using your name and primary mailing address.
  2. Search their catalog database, using the Catalog Choice search facilities for catalog(s) you want to stop receiving, and tell Catalog Choice about your selected catalog(s), that you want to opt out. They will then contact the catalog company on you behalf, requesting that your name be removed from their mailing lists.
  3. Finally to get the results, it may take at least ten weeks to process the request, after which time you should no longer receive your declined catalog. If you do continue to receive them, you can return back again.
