For quite long time, I’ve been using AdSense Deluxe plugin[1, 2] inserting AdSense ads on my blog, and I’m very much satisfied with it’s functionality and features. I’ve just came across a new AdSense plugin that offers some advanced features in addition to more less similiar AdSense Deluxe features.
Shylock Adsense is a WordPress plugin that allows you to insert AdSense, YPN ads on your blog without modifying the template, same as AdSense Deluxe plugin do.
But here’re the features that score weight & beat AdSense Deluxe plugin.
1. You can set Shylock Adsense up to show different Adsense ads for articles older then X days (x is the number of days you decide).
For example, you can insert a 468×60 ad at the bottom of a new article, and once that article turns 7 days old it will have a more aggressive 336×280 ad blended with the text from the beginning of that article. This way your regular readers will not be bothered by your ads, while visitors coming to older posts from search engines or other sources, will see a version that is monetized better.
2. Another feature is the ability to have articles without ads inserted in them, very useful for payed reviews, where you might not be allowed to have ads (I think it’s the case with PayPerPost).
3. inserting either Adsense ads, or anything else really into posts. You can insert Adsense, YPN, CPM banners or buttons, a box with your top or favorite posts to bring them to the attention of your users
4. controlling when the ads show and how. You can use no ads on the blog on article pages while they’re new, and you can set it up to start displaying ads once a certain period of time passes (you decide after how much time).
5. block ads from showing on certain pages or articles. For example, you may have a WordPress page where you want ads, but you might prefer that your About, Contact or Advertise Here pages are ad free. Another use is for paid reviews, which usually ask you not to have ads in those pages.
