Google Toolbar v5 for Internet Explorer launched
A new version 5 of the Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer has been recently launched that brings a lot of updates and new features. Some of the new features include:
You can accessorize with Google Gadgets: We first released custom buttons with search and feed functionality, and now we've added support for many Google Gadgets. In Toolbar, gadgets can even interact with the pages you're on, like with the Google Product Search gadget, you can just highlight the name of something you'd like to buy on any page and do a quick price comparison right there.
Google Notebook is built in: We realized that saving links as bookmarks to come back to is great, but not quite enough. So now you can collect text and images, too and put them into notebooks right from the Toolbar.
When you add a note, the text will be highlighted every time you open the page. If you also add some comments, they're displayed in a tooltip when you hover over the text (you're annotating the web): - You'll get suggestions instead of error pages:If you mistype a web address, instead of seeing a 404 or DNS error page, Google Toolbar will show you suggestions for the address you may have wanted as well as other navigation options.” Now the Toolbar will give you that familiar "Did you mean" with alternatives, like when you do a Google search.
You can now create profiles for AutoFill, there's an inline find bar similar to the one from Firefox and Google can replace the "Page not found" errors with useful suggestions.
Probably the most interesting new feature is that you can choose to save your settings on Google's servers so you can access your buttons, settings and AutoFill data even if you don't use the same computer.
You can learn more about the new features by watching video under by Google product managers, Avni and Aseem.
