Microsoft’s Kevin Schofield (he is an executive who works at Microsoft Research) confirmed today that China is redirecting traffic from Google and Microsoft’s search engines to Chinese Baidu.

Yep, It's Really Happening
I'm just finishing up a week in China, visiting our research lab here. Camped out in my hotel room for another hour or so.
 
Recently there was a mild flap about traffic to Live Search, Yahoo, and Google Blog Search being rerouted to Baidu.cn, the biggest Chinese-based search engine.
 
I just tried it myself. I typed http://search.live.cn into my browser, and sure enough I got redirected to baidu.cn. That really sucks.
