The next time you log into Xbox Live, you may want to check your profile to see if your motto is in line with Microsoft standards. If not, then you may find yourself locked out of the online gaming service, albeit for a short time.

An Xbox Live user recently found himself banned from XBL for inappropriate content stemming for his motto, “Konichiwa, b****es! on his profile. The ban, which lasted a little more than 24 hours also was accompanied by an e-mail from Microsoft warning him about the questionable content. Part of the communication from the Xbox Live Community Management team notified him that his, “Xbox Live account privileges have been suspended due to feedback received from other Xbox Live users about your inappropriate content on the service. Additionally, Xbox Live has deleted the content in question. The Xbox Live user known as CheapyD maintains that his motto has been the same even before the Xbox 360 launch, so it appears that Microsoft content crackdown seems to be pretty recent.

So XBL users beware. Your “Big Brother at Microsoft is watching and is apparently ready to ban first and warn you later if explicit content is found on your account.
