As expected, id Software and Splash Damage have released the PC demo for their upcoming team-based multiplayer game, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The demo can be nabbed over at FileShack and weighs in at a relatively reasonable—by today's standard, at least—727MB. Folks who download the demo will be able to enjoy the upcoming title's Valley map, which is playable either online with other players or with bots.

According to a Shacknews report from last week, minimum system requirements for the demo include a Pentium 4 2.8GHz or Athlon XP 2800+ processor, 512MB of RAM, a 128MB GeForce FX 5700 or Radeon 9700 graphics card, a DirectX 9.0c-compliant sound card, and a copy of Windows XP.

A note to users of AMD's latest Radeon HD 2000-series graphics cards, though: AMD has released a hotfix that it says improves performance in the Quake Wars demo. This hotfix is available for both Windows XP and Windows Vista.
