Limelight Networks Inc. Thursday said it entered a technology and services agreement with Microsoft Corp., under which Limelight will help improve the performance of Internet delivery of media content and online services, including video, music, games, software and social media, across Microsoft's Internet properties.

The Tempe, Ariz., provider of content-delivery network services and Microsoft will cross-license certain technologies, consider joint development projects in the future and cooperate on extending and improving their technology infrastructures.

The companies signed another multi-year agreement under which Limelight will continue to provide media-streaming and content-delivery services to Microsoft.
