Intel plans to provide Nehalem engineering samples
Intel plans to provide engineering samples of its new Nehalem microarchitecture in October and will follow up with a scheduled launch of the microarchitecture in the second half of 2008, according to sources at motherboard makers.
Nehalem will adopt a Socket B processor interface and will include a built-in memory controller similar to the design of AMD's CPUs. The microarchitecture will also have an improved version of Hyper-Threading and support an integrated graphics engine, added the sources.
