Today appears to be D-Day for many veteran reporters at The Wall Street Journal as the paper reports that Rupert Murdoch has reached a tentative agreement to purchase the paper’s parent company Dow Jones for $5 billion.

A final vote by the company’s board is set for tonight. If Murdoch’s deal passes muster, a historic day in media will come to pass and media watchers will hold their breath waiting for an embarrassing mass exodus of reporters concerned about Murdoch’s sensationalist media bent (Murdoch also owns Fox News and The New York Post).
