On May 9th MSDN Belux organizes its next MSDN Evening. This time we have the pleasure to welcome a Belgian guy who has been working for Microsoft in Redmond for a while and who recently, officially took the position of Visual C++ Principal Product Unit Manager. While he has been acting in this role for a while he and the rest of his team have shown leadership in developing C++ for Visual Studio codenamed "Orcas". It's great to see that Ronald is doing a great job in Redmond. Congratulations Ronald!

In his MSDN session Ronald will provide us with an in-depth overview of the new features of Visual C++ Orcas and give the attendees a strategy update on C++:

Visual C++ “Orcas” and a Microsoft C++ Strategy Update by Ronald Laeremans

Come and see what the “Orcas” release of Visual Studio has in store for C++ developers. The session will provide a tour through the top Windows Vista features for applications such as the new UI, Search and Organize, User Account Control and many deep reliability and performance enhancements. It will touch on the enhanced Visual C++ support for integrating native code and .NET code. Finally, it will provide a look into the role of C++ and native code on the Microsoft platform going forward and the exciting plans for the Visual C++ product beyond the Orcas release. The session will be hosted by Ronald Laeremans, Group Program Manager for Visual C++ at the Microsoft headquarters in the USA.
