IGN reports that Mistwalker president Hironobu Sakaguchi revealed during a press conference in South Korea they are currently in talks with Microsoft for a Blue Dragon sequel that could possibly bring the franchise online. Sakaguchi has previously mentioned a sequel to Blue Dragon, but the online aspect is something totally unexpected.

If Blue Dragon turns into an MMO, this could add another notch on the “franchising” belt that Mistwalker has been working on. Anime, playing card game, and now the possibility of being an MMO. How about we get Blue Dragon here in the states, because I’m dying to play the actual game, then we’ll talk about MMOs.
