Microsoft has issued a hotfix after receiving more than 100 complaints concerning a bug in Windows Vista that makes it difficult to copy files from one disc or PC to another.

The bug affects a function in Vista that calculates the time remaining to complete a file copy.

.. "When moving a file (size not important) from drive C to drive E (both Sata II on same PC), it takes ages for the green progress indicator in the address bar to reach 100%. File transfer starts but the progress indicator doesn't move." After an indeterminate period, transfer starts moving the progress bar along to completion.
