Michael Arrington reporting that StumbleUpon has signed a term sheet to be acquired by eBay for somewhere around $40 to $45 million.

High-flying startup StumbleUpon has been rumored to be in acquisition discussions since at least last November. Recently we’ve heard that talks have heated up again, with Google, AOL and eBay as potential suitors. A source with knowledge of the deal now says the company has signed a term sheet with eBay to be acquired.

Here are some basic traffic stats on StumbleUpon:

  • StumbleUpon had 6 million U.S. page views in March : Comscore
  • 6 million views is double of their February traffic.
  • 900,000 unique users in March, up 300% over March 2005
  • Over 2 million registered users in the StumbleUpon network
