While we can usually rely on the good old US ratings board (the ESRB) to let the cat of the bag regarding unannounced videogames, the board's German equivalents are behind today's speculation - namely that Prince of Persia is en route to the Xbox Live Arcade.

The ratings association, known as the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle, moots the platform classic for the Arcade, to be delivered by Ubisoft. With the full title of the game registered as Prince of Persia Classic, we reckon this is probably a revamp of one of the retrograde hits.

While Ubisoft aren't giving anything away at present, it seems unlikely that an official organisation would erroneously list a game that didn't exist. What's missing is news of what and when, rather than 'if', it would seem.

The famous Persian Prince on the Arcade would certainly go down rather well.
