Having created the best Star Wars game in years, Traveller's Tales and LEGO look set to revatilise another tired old license soon, with a LEGO game based on Batman revealed today. The developer's have confirmed that LEGO Batman will be created for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS - with a release in 2008 on the cards.

The LEGO Star Wars team will develop, bringing their trademark humour to bear on the caped crusader. Versions of the game for older consoles are also under consideration, unsurprising given past successes on the PS2, especially.

A new Batman adventure unrelated to the films is on the cards, and Traveller's Tales will work with DC Comics to create a title that should be both fresh and faithful. The developer's have also been granted access to the Batman vaults, which should help provide plenty of inspiration.

No word on appearances for Robin or Catwoman as yet, but the Joker and the Penguin should be involved, as well as the Arkham Asylum.
