FirstDefense-ISR (Immediate System Recovery) is complementary to all backup and high availability products. It was designed as a first step utility to recover immediately and simply from critical file corruptions, virus attacks, or any other system or application software failure. It reduces the time to recover a failed system to zero, thereby increasing network efficiency, reducing IT staff repair time, and increasing employee perceived value of the IT department. Product focus is on instant recovery in both attended and unattended modes of operation.

FirstDefense-ISR (Immediate System Recovery) includes the ability boot between Windows 2000/XP and Windows Vista. It recently completed development of a Vista-compatible version of its high-availability technology. It allows users to boot up to 10 live snapshots between Vista and other recent Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2000/XP) with the ability to access the same data files while in any of these operating systems. Originally designed for high availability, the snapshots can be configured for software developers, beta testers, optimized builds for gaming, video processing, etc. The open beta is limited to 10,000 downloads.
