New Wii game Excite Truck is out today and is receiving a little helping hand in the shape of Excitebike, just added to the Virtual Console. The names may sound similar but in actuality the titles are largely unrelated. In fact, Excitebike is a spruced-up version of the NES classic - also available on the GBA.

The new downloadable title will set you back 500 Wii points, as will newly launched Kirby's Adventure, which is joined on the VC by New Adventure Island from the TurboGrafx-16 which costs 600 points. Then there's R-Type III: 3rd Liahnina of SNES fame, blazing online at 800 points.

Elsewhere in the land of downloadable content for consoles, we learn that Q*bert is en route to the PS3 Store, and should be out next Thursday. For the uninitiated, Q*bert is a puzzle-style title that sees you jumping around a pyramid changing the colour of cubes and dodging the mean fellas. Sony Online are responsible for the conversion, and we're promised high-definition visuals, a two player mode, and online leaderboards.
