The BBC consumer affairs show said it received 248 complaints regarding Xbox 360 hardware failures. In many cases, gamers experienced hardware problems just months after their 12-month warranty had expired.

Because he was outside of the one-year warranty period, he paid £85 for a replacement console, which subsequently crashed after three days.
