Google Docs & Spreadsheets is an innovative solution provided by the search giant that offers powerful features to help you create, edit and share documents using a simple web-based interface. The service is available for free using a simple Google account and it stores all the documents and other information  directly on Google servers. The product is quite useful for all the users that  are looking for an alternative to the classic Office suite because it allows you to edit documents from multiple locations without installing any application.

Docs & Spreadsheets is regarded as the next web-based Office solution developed by Google because it is improved periodically with new features and abilities meant to attract more and more users. Some time ago, Ionut Alex, Google blogger, discovered an interesting document published on the Docs & Spreadsheets service that contained information about a new tool prepared by Google. It seems like the search giant will release a presentation tool entitled Presently that will helps users create presentations using a web-based interface.

Because Docs & Spreadsheets seems to be the upcoming Google Office Suite, the employees are continuously working to improve the solution. Today, Ionut Alex identified a new feature that allows user to change the timezone and the local configuration for each document or spreadsheet designed in Google's service.

“How to do that? Open a spreadsheet, click on File / Settings and change your timezone and locale settings. Then click "save settings." The changes will propagate to all the collaborators that can edit the spreadsheet. The timezone affects timestamps, revision history dates, and time-related functions like NOW() or TODAY(), while the local settings change the currency or the way numbers are displayed,” Ionut Alex reported today.

If you want to test the new feature you can follow the instruction provided by Ionut Alex after you login on the official page of the product available here.
