Even if the Microsoft celebration of the commercial availability of Vista and Office 2007 is limited to locations across the United States, the retail launch of Microsoft's flagship products is a global event. “On Tuesday, Jan. 30, Microsoft Corp. will unveil the Windows Vista operating system and the 2007 Microsoft Office system to consumers worldwide, transforming the way people communicate, create and share content, and access information and entertainment in the new digital age,” revealed Microsoft.

New Yorkers will be able to participate together with Steve Ballmer at the start of the national retail events at the New York: Best Buy, 529 5th Ave. (44th St. and 5th Ave.) “Ballmer will share his own “wow” moments with Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office system, the most thoroughly tested software releases in Microsoft’s history,” added Microsoft.

Additionally, Microsoft has announced that it will offer $25,000 PC Lab Giveaways to schools across the US, as part of the company's marketing campaign. “Visit the designated store location in your area on January 30, 2007 between 3:00-7:00 p.m. local time and enter your school for a chance to win a computer lab worth $25,000. Share this information with your friends, parents and teachers to increase the odds of your school winning. One lucky school at each participating retail location will win a computer lab,” informed Microsoft.
