Ever wanted to know the Geo location of the people making comments on your WordPress blog. In simple terms, you can click on the commenter’s IP address on WordPress / Manage → Comments page. But are you really interested in basic WHOIS output?

If no, Commenter Spy Plugin will help you: This WordPress plugin uses JavaScript to change the URL used for the WHOIS request to query GeoMapLookup — a service to display the geographical location (geolocation) of the IP address used by your visitor who left the comment via Google Maps; coordinates provided by MaxMind’s GeoLite City. The accuracy may vary but at least this gives you a clue where the visitor’s ISP is located.

It supports Safari, Firefox and Opera while using WordPress 2.0.5.

Installation:

1. Download commenter-spy.php, and extract to your local folder.
2. Upload extracted commenter-spy.php to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder and activate the plugin. That’s it.
