Lev Walkin has created a nice solution to add comments to any web site or pages, called JS-Kit. JS-Kit Javascrpt lets you add dynamic comments functionality to your own site. The script is completely free.

You can add a comments section to any page of your web site by adding the following single line of HTML:
<script src="http://js-kit.com/comments.js"></script>

Tricks

  1. You can deploy the comments in a place separate from the <SCRIPT> tag by using the <DIV> with id="js-kit-comments". Place the <SCRIPT> tag at the very end of the HTML page to speed up page load. <div id="js-kit-comments"></div> ... rest of html code ... <script src="http://js-kit.com/comments.js"></script>
  2. You can override the default "Leave a comment" message by using the label attribute: <div id="js-kit-comments" label="Comment this photo"></div> <script src="http://js-kit.com/comments.js"></script>
  3. If the document is accessible using multiple alternative path names and you want to display the same comments everywhere, use path specification: <div id="js-kit-comments" path="/my/fixed/path"></div> <script src="http://js-kit.com/comments.js"></script>
  4. You can change the comments' look by using CSS after the <SCRIPT> tag: <script src="http://js-kit.com/comments.js"></script> <style type="text/css"> <strong>Your style here!</strong> </style>
  5. You can completely change the comment entry design by using templates: <div id="js-kit-comments" style="visible: hidden"> <div class="js-singleComment"> <div class="js-singleCommentBg"> <div class="js-singleCommentINFO"> <div class="js-singleCommentName">{Name}</div> <div class="js-singleCommentControls"> [<a class="js-singleCommentReply">{Label:reply}</a>] <span class="js-singleCommentDeletable"> [<a class="js-singleCommentDelete">{Label:delete}</a>]</span> </div> </div> <div class="js-singleCommentText">{Text}</div> <div style="clear: both"></div> </div> </div> </div> <script src="http://js-kit.com/comments.js"></script>

Techcruhnch --"JS-Kit works by running Lev’s javascript code, which along with the website’s referral, fetches the appropriate comment data from his server. The comments are fully customizable by CSS and multiple comment instances can be displayed on the same referring URL by changing the “path” attribute of the comment. That way you could have a photo page with unique comment threads for each picture. However, while JS-Kit allows for a lot of customization, it still lacks some of the more advanced administrative features of fully integrated comments, such as those of our WordPress blog."
