Akimbo's new RCA box, set to ship in the fall for somewhere between $200 and $300, is not vastly different from Akimbo's own player. Both have 80GB hard drives for downloading MPEG 4 (Windows Media 9) content and should be able to store roughly 120 hours of content. The RCA unit runs Windows CE on an Intel Pentium CPU. It includes an Ethernet port and the final version will have S-Video, composite, component video, and digital audio output. There's also a USB port that will work with 802.11G wireless USB adapters. It will not, however, support high-definition content.
