Fifth Gear takes out —the “Bentley Continental GT” for a road test, which is powered by a “twin-turbo W12 engine” that produces an impressive 552hp @ 6100rpm and 479 ft. lb torque at 1600rpm — boosting it from 0-62mph in just 4.7-seconds. Casting the engine block in a ‘W’ rather than a ‘V’ formation has made the engine much more space efficient than a conventional twelve cylinder motor of similar capacity. The configuration is best understood as two very narrow angle (15 deg) V6 engines joined on a common crankshaft. Video after the jump.
