The Baal All Terrain Off Road Bike concept is the finalist in this year’s Michelin Challenge design contest, featuring hands and feet steering, a 500 ccm ATV engine and a big rubber track instead of sniffy things like wheels.

It is based on a bendable rubber track that guarantees maximum traction as well as freely changeable directions. To make the handling more comfortable and interesting, the vehicle is steered by hands and feet. Being intelligent and ground adopting by construction and material, the system does not need complicated sensor systems or adjustable suspensions. Providing much space for a motor, the frame construction allows the use of several engine concepts like conventional fuel systems or fuel cell systems. click to enlarge…
