In R2, If you are unable to receive any email notification after setting up File Server Resource Manager, it is dued to the fact that you are using Exchange with SMTP. There is a known bug that email will not be sent out if Exchange has Basic authentication turned on.

Workaround: Customers who do use basic authentication can turn it off and FSRM’s email notification?should work. If customers who do not use Exchange, will not have this issue too.

The hotfix is now available! Please contact PSS and quote the hotfix 914678. The hotfix will not be available for the public at the moment. View the KB at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914678
